Build
Mobile applications
One codebase for iOS and Android, published on both stores.
A mobile app only makes sense if it does something a website cannot: work offline, send a notification, use the camera or location. Otherwise a well-built site on a phone costs ten times less. When the app is justified, we build it in React Native with Expo: a single codebase for iOS and Android, and the ability to ship a fix without waiting days for Apple's review.
The method
How we work
- 01
We check the app is actually needed
Offline use, notifications, sensors, daily use by the same people. If none of those apply, we say so — and improve your site on mobile instead.
- 02
We build on a single codebase
React Native and Expo: both platforms share the code, and each one's quirks are handled where they genuinely exist.
- 03
We handle developer accounts and certificates
Apple and Google accounts, signing, profiles, store listings. It is administratively tedious, it blocks a release over an expired certificate, and it is our job.
- 04
We ship fixes without going back through review
Updates that do not touch native code are pushed straight to devices. An urgent fix reaches your users within the hour, not within the week.
What you get
Deliverables
- check_circleThe app published on the App Store and Google Play, under your accounts
- check_circleTest builds distributed to your team before each release
- check_circleCrash reporting, down to the offending line of code
- check_circleThe deadline calendar: certificates, minimum versions imposed by Apple and Google
Frequently asked questions
- Native or cross-platform?
- Cross-platform in the vast majority of cases: one codebase instead of two, for a result your users cannot tell apart. Pure native is justified for very demanding uses — 3D games, live video processing — which we do not claim to cover.
- Are the store accounts in my name?
- Always. The app is published under your publisher identity, with your accounts. We hold a revocable management access, and you keep ownership of the listing and the reviews.
- What does annual maintenance cost?
- A mobile app cannot be left to sleep: Apple and Google impose a minimum version every year, and an app left un-updated ends up pulled from the store. Budget for at least one annual refresh, on top of the developer subscriptions.
